Converting Ratios

Fika -

WALT: convert the ratios into the simplest form.

Write each ratio in its simplest form

Eg 1: 12 to 36 = 12 x1 : 12 x 3  (divides by 12 both sides)

          1 : 3

Eg 2 : 35 : 15 =  5 x 7 : 5 x 3     (divided by 5 both sides)

  7 : 3

25 to 125 = 25 x 1 : 25 x 5 = 1 : 5

24 : 72 = 24 x 1 : 24 x 3 = 1 : 3

45 to 180 = 45 x 1 : 45 x 4 = 1 : 4

14 : 56 = 14 x 1 : 14 x 4 = 1 : 4

36 : 12 = 12 x 3 : 12 x 1 = 3 : 1

28 to 56 = 28 x 1 : 28 x 2 = 1 : 2

14 : 56 = 14 x 1 : 14 x 4 = 1 : 4

42 : 21 = 21 x 2 : 21 x 1 = 2 : 1

15 : 30 = 15 x 1 : 15 x 2 = 15 : 2

33 : 55 = 11 x 3 : 11 x 5 = 3 : 5

58 to 174 = 58 x 1 : 58 x 3 = 1 : 3

90 to 150 = 30 x 3 : 30 x 5 = 3 : 5

21 to 84 = 21 x 1 : 21 x 4 = 1 : 4

70 to 140 = 70 x 1 : 70 x 2 = 1 : 2

13 : 65 = 13 x 1 : 13 x 5 = 1 : 5

15 : 75 = 5 x 3 : 5 x 15 = 5 : 15

30 to 90 = 30 x 1 : 30 x 3 = 1 : 3

51 to 153 = 51 x 1 : 51 x 3 = 1 : 3

75 to 150 = 75 x 1 : 75 x 2 = 1 : 2

40 to 160 = 40 x 1 : 40 x 4 = 1 : 4

10 : 90 = 10 x 1 : 10 x 9 = 1 : 9

12 : 60 = 12 x 1 : 12 x 5 = 1 : 5

44 : 55 = 11 x 4 : 11 x 5 = 4 : 5

29 : 37 = 1 x 29 : 1 x 37 = 29 : 37

12: 8 = 4 x 3 : 4 x 2 = 3 : 2

2: 20 = 2 x 1 : 2 x 10 = 1 : 10

3: 36 = 3 x 1 : 3 x 12 = 1 : 12

8: 16 = 8 x 1 : 8 x 2 = 1 : 2

10: 50 = 10 x 1 : 10 x 5 = 1 : 5

100: 10 = 10 x 10 : 10 x 1 = 10 : 1

10: 60 = 10 x 1 : 10 x 6 = 1 : 6

35: 45 = 5 x 7 : 5 x 9 = 7 : 9

21: 49 = 7 x 3 : 7 x 7 = 3 : 7

20: 40 = 20 x 1 : 20 x 2 = 1 : 2

my reflection - term 2

Success:

Math

  • This term I have enjoyed doing maths because I have learnt

  • many things from doing maths like different types of

  • strategies and topics. I know how to simplify improper

  • and proper fractions, how to find the circumference of

  • a circle, how to simplify improper fractions into a mixed

  • fraction, and how to solve math equations.

  • I also like to do bedmas because it is more challenging

  • and harder with 4 operations.

  • I like to use algorithms because it is easier for me to

  • solve mathematical equations if I don’t know what it equals to.

Improvement:

Reading:

  • I need to improve my reading by asking critical

  • questions and getting better at predicting and

  • inferring what I'm reading.

Writing

  • In writing I need to improve my writing by using

  • figurative language and using more details when

  • I am writing an exposition.

  • Using more compound, complex and connectives.

  • I also need to work on using more interesting words

  • and timely connectives in my recount.

  • Using varieties of punctuation such as capital letters,

  • comas in the right place and other punctuation.

Maths

  •  In maths I need to improve my problem solving

  • and apply my knowledge to it.

  • I need to show and explain my work in a way that

  • other people can understand.

Obstacles:

The thing that is stopping me from doing my work is I am

easily getting distracted by those around me and talking to

them so I need to be able to manage myself better rather

than easily getting distracted.

My Favourite Topic:

My favourite topic in school is maths because maths is a

common subject that I can do and that I enjoy the most.

fraction problem

dawn raids

In the few past weeks I have been learning about Dawn raid and how the government treated them. This is my example of Dawn Raid shown on Pixton.

maths

I have been learning how to simplify proper and improper fractions. It was a bit challenging for me because to simplify the improper fractions you have to convert it into mixed fractions but once I kept on simplifying improper fractions I got used to the strategy being used.
